I learned this year that watching Star Wars on Father's Day is becoming a thing, because of the whole Vader being Luke & Lea's father thing. (It appears that decades later people are still in shock about that one.) Personally, as a father, I don't get it.
Darth Vader was responsible for untold thousands of deaths, including that of many children. He "redeemed" himself in the last few minutes of episode VI because he saved Luke from a trap that he himself had set ... so, still a crappy father unless of course you are evil, which changes the equation substantially.
Still, I'm somewhat drawn to really bad ideas for children's books and it's never too early to start indoctrinating children to the cult of Star Wars. So, I'm pretty happy about Goodnight Darth Vader from cartoonist Jeffrey Brown the author of Darth Vader and Son and Vader’s Little Princess.
