Short video demonstrates the vastness of the known universe

Space is big. I mean it is really, really big. This video from Will Parr, Dr. Mark Swinbank and Dr. Peder Norberg of Durham University shows you what it might look like if you flew through the known universe at incredible speeds.

Remember that those lights are not stars. They are entire, known, galaxies. Each one contains billions of stars and planets and is many thousands of light years across.

This imagined journey, in other words, would take hundreds of millions of years even at the speed of light.
