Short Film, P.S. Hoffman (A Tribute) celebrates the work of an amazing actor


Editor Caleb Slain has created, this homage to the recently departed Phillip Seymour Hoffman. P.S. Hoffman (A Tribute). He refers to it as a "A post-script journey through Philip Seymour Hoffman's lifetime in cinema."

The 20+ minute short uses scenes from Jack Goes Boating, Mission Impossible III, the Invention of Lying, Doubt, Pirate Radio, The Savages, Moneyball, The Ides of March, Cold Mountain, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Capote, Punch-Drunk Love, Almost Famous, Charlie Wilson’s War, Empire Falls, The Talented Mr. Ripley, A Late Quartet, The Master, Magnolia, Along Came Polly, Patch Adams, 25th Hour, Owning Mahowny, Mattress Man Commercial (Video short), The Big Lebowski, Next Stop Wonderland, Happiness, Mary and Max, Synecdoche, New York, Twister, Love Liza, State and Main, Flawless, Boogie Nights, Montana, Nobody’s Fool, Leap of Faith, Scent of A Woman, Hard Eight, When a Man Loves a Woman, Money For Nothing, Law & Order and My Boyfriend’s Back.

According to Slain, "200 hours of work went into breaking down 47 of Hoffman's films. Compiling his legacy has been one of the most challenging experiences I've ever faced as an editor, and yet indescribably rewarding. I can assure you that after 22 years on screen and nearly fifty films, we now look at the work of an actor who never had a single dishonest moment on camera. I know because I've seen them all. Please take a breather and raise your glasses to one of our greatest."

It is a remarkable collection of some of the finest roles an scenes from one of the best actors of his generation.
