Sherlock and Doctor Who Director Toby Haynes Bringing "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell" to Television


Susanna Clarke's 2004 novel Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell is being adapted for television by an international team that includes Endemol Worldwide Distribution, BBC America and Bell Media’s Space, along with production companies Cuba Pictures of the U.K., Quebec’s Cité Amérique and co-production specialist Far Moor according to Media Caster Magazine.
"Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell will be shot in Quebec as well as the U.K.; script adaptation is by Peter Harness. Toby Haynes (Sherlock, Doctor Who, Wallender) is director, and Nick Hirschkorn from Feel Films (Five Children And It, Skellig) is producer along with Greg Dummett on behalf of Quebec’s Cité Amérique."

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell is an alternative history novel chronicling the return of magic to England at the height of the napoleonic war.
