Video: the Talking Heads live set at CBGBs 1975

From the mid 70s onward, New York's CBGBs played host to the bands that would lay the foundation for the American punk and new wave scenes of the 1980s. Along with the Talking Heads, bands like the Ramones, Blondie, the Dead Boys, Television and Patti Smith regularly graced the stage. Richard Hell once wrote in the New York Times that the venue "housed the most influential cluster of bands ever to have grown up - or to implicitly reject the concept of growing up - under one roof."

So, without further ado here are David Byrne and the Talking Heads doing a full set years before MTV and Burning Down the House.
