Help Amnesty International to Free Pussy Riot!

According to Amnesty International, 3 suspected members of the feminist Russian punk group Pussy Riot have been detained and charged with "hooliganism". (Yes this is Russia and not Mayberry). The charges stem from a performance by Pussy Riot in a Russian Cathedral (see video below.) The women arrested; Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alekhina and Ekaterina Samutsevich deny involvement but could face from 3 to 7 years in prison if convicted.

Regardless of whether or not these three women were specifically involved, serious prison time for a non-violent political protest is a clear violation of any reasonable human rights or free speech standard. Russia likes to pretend it is a free country but cases like this one and it's ban on advocacy for gay rights clearly demonstrate that it is not.

Please visit the Amnesty International web site and add your name to the long list of people asking Russian authorities to free Pussy Riot!
